Since replacing the brake master cylinder with a rebuilt one, I still have brake issues that I am not happy with (or feel safe on the road with)...
The brake pedal does not immediately return back up after use and the brakes feel like they are only "half on". Any clues why? System has been flushed and bled for removal of air bubbles etc. Has anyone experienced this on their Dunlop-fitted Fulvias?
I checked the Tavolas and there seems to be only Girling brakes shown in the diagrams (or in the workshop manual).
Does anyone have the exploded diagrams for the Series 1 Dunlops? Are there seal kits available for these from tuning shops etc. for the callipers/cylinders?
Front wheel assembly is shown...
Any advice is most appreciated, thanks.
Mike

Re: Series 1 Dunlop brake overhaul
you will find lots of posts on this forum about this subject; Huib is a specialist for S1 brakes;
no problem about parts as the Dunlop calipers were used on Jaguar
good work

Re: Series 1 Dunlop brake overhaul
When you say a rebuilt master cylinder what exactly was done to it? Just new seals or has it been sleeved as well?
Is the internal diameter the same as the original?

Many thanks to all who replied. (Thanks Andrea for the diagram).
I had a good look at my master cylinder over the weekend and surprise... I find leaking brake fluid around the top of the pedal assembly and a very slight film on the lower mounting nut on the firewall. This is not a major leak, but a dripping film down onto the pedal arms under the dash.
So it appears that the master cylinder has either the wrong seals fitted, a seal back the front, or a damaged bore?
It was a replacement unit that went in supposedly rebuilt...
Tony, will give you a call soon.
