1.2 HF for sale
Re: 1.2 HF for sale
My 1.6HF has thin carpet, held down with "poppers" and in places a bit of glue. Over the top it has the traditional Lancia rubber mats. I have never seen any Fanalone (or other Fulvia) without carpets, be it in a book, on the web, in a museum or at a show unless it has been rally prepped - so I am pretty sure they all had carpets.
Re: 1.2 HF for sale
Geoff,
The "AFAIK" was because I was anything but sure. In fact, I just checked the original factory brochure (with the die-cut "HF") covering the 1,3HF and the 1,6HF, and in the photos both of them clearly have thin carpet. So it seems that you and Neil are quite correct.

Re: 1.2 HF for sale
Carpet was original only for the first series HFs. Pour quality because its sole purpose was beeing lighter than the rubber mats. I always wondered why a homologation special would be fitted with quick wearing carpets while the day to day version would have indestructible non luxerious rubber mats.
I have no record of kerb weight be checked by a test team. I believe only the Germans conducted tests like that and still do.

It may be innacurate but UK MOT stations (well my one in the my village - so no big outfit) static weighs each axle when doing brake tests.
Results are as follows which include generally a nearly full fuel tank, spare wheel, tools, an 80kg plus mechanic sitting in the car, and miscellaneous stuff:
1600 HF
(no bumpers, ally doors boot, bonnet and full roll cage, additional sill strengthing, sump gaurd, and loads of wayol!)
= 1076 kgs +/-3kgs over 4 years results
1600 s2 sport (extra sill strengthening and inner wings, tools, fuel, mechanic) = 1104kgs
1.3S (tools, spare wheel, fuel, mechanic etc) 1096kgs. As book kerb weight is 970kg this means additional of some 100kgs needs to come off.
Allowing say 150 kgs off my HF would make it c925kgs which is a lot of waxyol!

The last time I had my 1200HF on a scale. A scale used for measuring lorrys.accurate in 10kgs increments it weighed 840kg with half a tank of fuel. Sills strengthened and spare wheel on board. No driver or rollcage. But with mag 5.5Jx13 Campagnolos and plexi quarterlights front and rear and rear window. Lightened Flywheel (-3.5Kgs) and composite rear leafsprings. (-6kg)
For further lightening I have a thin ex squadra corse windscreen. 4.5mm instead of 7mm. (-3kgs) Composite front spring. (-5kgs) and the return of the original 4 speed gearbox with drilled gears. (-12Kgs). With these parts fitted the weight will drop to about 820Kgs.
