i have taken the bumpers off my s3 1976 fulvia
i know the options for light for the rear number plate but i need advice for a simple, cheap (in the short term at least - get me through MOT) option for setting the front indicators in the appropriate slots on the front body under the grille. obvously the existing lihght units from the bumpers are not a fit - too big for the holes, i know other people have sorted this problem - as visible in many photos but noone seems to be able to tell me how!
i assume the solution will involve sourcing lenses from another type of car then making brackets and seals for the old light units?
but of course i would be happier if anyone had a simpler solution? using whole units from something else?
thanks

Re: indicators
I got the idea from omicron. I cut the holes bigger (quite easy as so thin - but you have to work out which way to extend or you will not have any metal for an inboard mounting point) to let the lights through from the back with the plastic showing and modified (one simply bending , the other more dramatic reworking) the brackets that held the light onto the bumper. Drill holes for bolts - I used chromed domed coach bolts and white nylon washers) and finish the hole with black plastic piping (tidies up any slight ugly hole cutting!).
Looks really smart if you get continental lenses which are clear and put orange bulbs in.
A cautionary note 1. look to see which way lights should be fitted to "math" profile with curve of body, 2 be prepared to weld new metal!!

Re: indicators
it sounds too obvious, but one simple, cheap, short-term solution would be to re-mount the bumpers, pass your MOT, and buy yourself enough time to sort it properly.
Re: indicators
thanks - thats a very good point but i wasnt clear - its a while until the MOT but i wanted to hear 'quick fix' ideas , at this point in time ive got little cash so for the medium term i hoped someone might say something like ' the units from such and such car are a really good fit, and easy to mount because ....',
also very grateful for other advice but reluctant to cut the holes bigger

I took off some berlina indcators of mine which had been bodged (quick fix?) on to the holes and worked ok but not very esthetic. You could use series ones and mount on top/front of wings like a series one??
