some other pictures of lancia 100 Turin
Re: some other pictures of lancia 100 Turin
I might be wrong, but I got the impression that the most interesting part of the 100yr Lancia was not at the central square in Turin, but at the hillclimb. I think even the circuit action was more interesting than the square. But: I wasn't there. Know that an engine prepared in Holland showed off at the circuit. And heard about a D50 at the hillclimb.

dear Peter,
If action is what you like then the Fiat 'La mandria' test circuit was the best. Even if it was just a 4 mile stretch of public forrest asphalt used for testing cars on these conditions. Fun for the rallydrivers amongst us. But the sporty element during this event was a regularity trial. We had to cover the 4 mile section avaraging 40km/h. Even prewar cars had to keep their speed low in order not to overstep.
The second and last action bit during that week was to drive half of the oval Lingotto test track on the roof of that famous building. Half, because the rest was being asphalted! Speaking about well organised...
The day on the square was the best. During that day the organisation kept low profile leaving the participants to eachother. Plus 250 Lancias parked on a beautifull square with nothing else to do than making pictures, listening to the rallycars, debaiting everything from the espresso to the non original turnindicator of a blue Appia. The most relaxed day of the week. It least, that was what I found.

You got to be kidding!! Half the lingotto oval must be extremely exciting! Are there any pics of that or the la mandria??
Re: some other pictures of lancia 100 Turin
Half the Ligotto track is less exciting than you think. Firstly the only turn which was open was badly in need of a new surface. It was bumpy as hell. Secondly, after finishing this turn you had to brake like crazy in order to make the underpass which brought you back to the start ot the turn.
I will send you some pictures. Many pictures of other events than the square can be found on the LCN site.
