I have seen many cracked engine steadies - caused by over-tightening and equally, many broken "Eiffel Towers" caused by under-tightening.

To adjust the "foot" without too much swearing, one needs a short 8mm spanner and a short 19mm one for the locknut. Alternatively, the locknut can be moved with a socket on a number of long extensions!

Hi Paul

I had to give my girlfriends car a service this weekend and change her brakes so there wasn't much time to work on the fulvia, I did jack it up though to see that "Eiffel Towers"
There are 2 rubbers one on the bottom then it's the mount then another rubber.

The top rubber is completely colapsed and broken. So that is probably the problem.

Does anyone have the sizes of these two rubbers on my s3 fulvia?

I still have to make time for the valve problem. Sorry this thread changed from valves to mounting rubbers.

That's not the "Eiffel Tower"; you were looking at the lower mounting on the side of the gearbox.

The "Eiffel Tower" is on the top of the 'box, directly behind the engine

Thanks Paul

NOW I understand.

There is definitely a problem with that lower mounting.

The "eiffel tower" on top of the box looks perfect.
