Thanks again guys.

Is a faulty earth connection normally to blame for the lights flicking on and off as the car goes over bumps? I did experience this in my car prior to to it being taken off the road. From memory there was an audible clicking sound through the stalk controlling the lights ( I haven't actually driven the car since '97 so it is not a recent recollection.....)

Most likely the ring that fastens the stalk to the steering column as not tightened which results in an intemittent ground contact.

I found and purchased some new old stock Carello H4 outer headlights, totally perfect, in their boxes, now I have to find some of the Carello H1 inners to match, anyone got any sitting in the back of their garage? Any clues as to other models that may have shared the same headlamps? Someone mentioned that the later Beta coupes may be the same...

The Carellos fitted to the Beta coupés were visually similar, but the mounting arrangements were totally different.

They are therefore, unsuitable for the Fulvia
