Please find me a solution for that stupid gearing, Paul!
I used a std 630 box when I shattered 3rd gear from my 740box. Same diff but the wider gears. I really hated this and started to collect HF gearboxes (have I think about 5 of them) since. But really even the HF gearing is not close enough. Posted a request on the italian forum for a close ratio gearbox and no reactions. I know you can buy the gears themselves for about 2000eur, but then you also need a 9/41 or 8/41 diff for the system to be useful. Meaning another 1000+. There must be smarter ways than driving with berlina box's
I have about 30sets of Hewland gears. One day they will be in there.....
ride height series 1 vs. series 2
Re: ride height series 1 vs. series 2/gearboxratios
10:41 Fulvia berlina 5 marce
11:43 Fulvia Coupe 1300 S2 , 1600 HF S2 or (Flavia) 2000 berlina 5m
10:37 Fulvia zagato 1300 S2 or (Flavia) 2000 coupe 5m
11:39 Fulvia 1600 Zagato or (Flavia) 2000 HF 5m
10:37 also used on 1600 fanalone but to exclusive to use as donor.
Without big bills the Berlina box is the slowest box available for B-road or ralley use.

Re: ride height series 1 vs. series 2/gearboxratios
Hey it's not true! 145/R14 tyres are available! Just not commonly found on tyre lists.
I use them on the amazing Audi A2 1.2 TDI - the car capable of 94 mpg / 3litres/100km - a great machine that's been underestimated my the majority of road users - bit like the Fulvia! The wheels are Alloy R14 4.5J aswell. These are also fitted to the VW Lupo 3L.
I use Bridgestone Ecopia B381 145/R14 76T (80 series) tyres for most of the year - they are inexpensive and can be ordered through he likes of www.mytyres.co.uk or ask your tyre centre to order them from Bridgestone.
There is also an excellent winter tyre the same size by Conntinental: WinterContact TS 760 145/80 R14 76T
