Another possibility to get better sparks under non-optimal conditions is to use better plugs. Not fancier ones, but better ones.

We all know you should not stand near a single tree on an open field during a thunderstorm. Similarly lightning deflectors have sharp points. The sharper the point the higher the strength of the electric field. It is called the Corona effect.

Since a tiny fraction of metal from the electrodes vaporizes at each spark, electrodes can normally not be made very small. The electrode would be used up rather quickly. Since a few years there are spark plugs with iridium tips. Iridium is an extremely stable material and the central electrode is very thin indeed.

The practical difference between Bosch super-4 and Golden lodge is that they will never faul. No matter how long you are stuck in traffic. Same result with a conventional breaker system.
Lodges are notorious for fauling. Only during circuit racing they work.
