Fanalone Electronic Ignition
Fanalone Electronic Ignition
I have a Fanalone with electronic ignition fitted. It is Bosch and the previous owner believes it to be original, but I would have thought the original would have been Magnetti Marelli if available at that time. The car is late '69. I have looked in the parts books but can only find reference to it being available for late S2 onwards - but Weernink's book makes mention of it being available for the Fanalone, but does not go any further in saying what "it" is. It seems to work fine and looks professionally fitted, but does anyone have any definitive information on what the original fittment would have been ? Any information gratefully received !
Re: Fanalone Electronic Ignition
Probably not the info you are looking for but just as an indication the glove box addendum for the Coupe Rallye 1,6 HF dated VII-1969 only mentions Marelli S 139 A

S139A is the number of the distributor, not an ignition box if you ask me.

Peter,
You are absolutely right.
I wasa bit too quick - both reading the question as well as the manual - correct number for the alternator should be - according to page 4 of the manual specifying the alternatore (this is the part you are referring to isn't it - my Italian is rather bad as you'll understand by now) - "Bosch G1 - 14V 28A 22".
If any knows of a good series 1 Fulvia Zagato (preferably an "S"-model) please let me know.
cheers,
Jorn

Re: Fanalone Electronic Ignition
I am still awaiting some information on the provonence of the kit fitted to my car. The Bosch part numbers are (for any one interested !)
Transistor unit 0227 051 021
Ballast resistors 0227 900 101
Coil 0221 501 002.
From what I have been able to find out they are contempory, and may have been standard fit to the 4 cylinder Porsche 912.
I am even more sure that it was not official factory fit but may have been fitted very soon after (the extra bracketry to mount the coil is very proffesional, beutifully finished and totally integrated into the original coil mounting bracket.
Thanks for the info so far
