Greetings,
I have a line on a nice 1st series coupe a Lancisti friend of mine is considering selling here in the U.S.A.
Before I spring for the car I was wondering where a good source of OEM spec parts are availble, either here in the states or abroad?
What I mean are parts like oil, fuel and air filters, correct OEM size tires (or tyres) and the more major wear parts like wheel bearings, rod bearings, fuel pumps ect... ect...all the normal wear and tear replacement parts that go with running a Fulvia.
Also, I am looking for the "Fulvia' script lettering that goes on the passenger side of the dash board, if anyone has a nice example they would like to sell please contact me off line. Thank you!
Best regards,
Tim

Re: "Disposable" Fulvia Parts
Hi Tim:
In addition to the very good sources identified by Simon, there is a very dedicated Lanciste in the U.S. named Mike Kristick who handles parts to all pre-Fiat takeover models. Mike owns Fulvias himself and actually started out by bringing Fulvia parts into the U.S. when the American Lancia Club's Parts Consortium was running out of steam. He does things the old-fashioned way, so you buy from him by calling him up.
As with any car that is old, you have to plan a little in advance and keep obvious spares on hand for future use, such as fuel pumps, water pumps or rebuild kits, brake parts, etc.. But the Fulvia was a high volume car by Lancia standards and parts are not very difficult to come by. In fact the total production of Fulvia coupes was greater than the total production of the later Beta coupes.
I say go ahead and buy the car. You will never want to sell it.

Re: "Disposable" Fulvia Parts
Tim,
A good source for parts is Lancia Ersatzeilservice C C out of Cape Town, South Africa (www.lancia.co.za/) They have an excellent online catalog that you can order from. They are very helpful and seem to be trying to expand their business to the USA. The real advantage is that the exchange rate between the US dollar and the SA rand is a lot better than it is against the Euro.
Also, if you look into the history of this site, you will find a group interesting postings that were to help someone decide between buying an Alfa or a Fulvia. Most of your concerns are addressed in those postings.
Good luck,
Leonard

Re: "Disposable" Fulvia Parts
For most of my consumables (spark plugs, breaker points, brake pads, v- belts, oil filters, petrol filters) of my Flavia (which is less common than a Fulvia) I go to a normal Motor Factor.
In Europe this may be a bit easier than in US but you must be able to find one which does parts for European cars
NGK certainly will have the correct spark plugs
FRAM will have the V- belt, oil filter cartridge,Fuel filter)
DODUCO or Facet will have the breaker points
For first series Fulvia the brake pads are identical to the Flavia, which are identical to 1st series Jag E- type (AP-Lockheed LP-0111)
Thermostats from Wahler
etc , etc
First time you have to renew the parts, take them to a good motor factor at a quit moment, and they will find you the correct modern equivalent.
Have lots of fun with the Fulvia
