Fulvia HF swivels

Unread post by Carlos »

I am restoring a HF second serie, and I found that the swivels mounted on the car are the same as on the 1,3S second series. I think it is erratic.
Should it be similar to the Fanalone? Or 1,3 first series?
Please could somebody help me?

Regards,

Carlos

Your swivels are the correct ones. Series 1 and 2 are different because they hold different brake calipers.

Ciao, Giancarlo!

I checked the original second series Lancia Fulvia Tavola, and the swivels have diferent part numbers from 1,3S to HF. Really strange...
I have got friends here in Portugal that have Fanalones, but nobody has a genuine second series HF to be checked.
The calipers are Girling. That is O.K.
Will exist a specific swivel for second series HF? If not, using the 1,3S, will affect the steering arms geometry?

If you can get any additional information, please let me know.
Meanwhile, I will follow your information.

Thank you very much for your attention!

Dear Carlos,
1.6HF 2S swivels are the same of the early 1.3S 2S ( up to serial n. 11275, according to the parts catalogue). After that number, 1.3S had also different upper suspension arms and balljonts. The differencies in steering geometry are takein into account by the central rod assembly that is different for 1.6 HF and 1.3 while swivels play no role in this. Steering box is also different to provide a lower ratio for HF. Girling brake calipers are the same for the two models.
Hope this could help you.
Ciao
Giancarlo
