Hi, I am from England and the last Lancia imported offically was the Integrale in 1993/94. Lancia stopped importing other models like Dedra, Thema and Y10 in 1992.

I personally drive a 1997 Nouvo Delta HPE HF which was imported from Italy. I vistited Turin last year to see the Lancia Museum but we visited a deler to see the New Thesis and Phedra. The Thesis is better looking in the metal than the pictures, this is also true of the Lybra. The Lybra station wagon looks better than the Berlina.

A couple of years ago a friend and I had the oppertunity to borrow a 1.6 Lybra SW for the day, it impressed us except the 1.6 needed a bit more power to keep up with a spirited 2.4JTD Lybra.

As for Lancia coming back to the UK, we would very much like this, especially with some of the new models which maybe produce. I am looking at the Fulvetta as a replacement to the Delta, if this has to be impoerted so be it. Unless Lancia are doing better in other markets the cost for making right hand drive for England only is expensive, they would need to re-enter the Australian, New Zealand and South Africa markets to make it more viable.

Hi Dipa,

I'm the friend of Simons who borrowed the Lybra 1.6 SW in Portugal with him.
I own 4 Lancia's the newest one is a Y Elefantino Rosso that I bought new in Rotterdam in October 1999.
It is a great little car and it's just as well that is wasn't made in RHD as Fiat would not have sold many Punto's in the UK if it had been available, of course it is more expensive than most Punto's better equipped but aimed at a different market.
Would love a Thesis, which is amazing but would settle for a Lybra 2.4JTD SW.

The last Lancias sold in the U.S. were in 1982. Unfortunately I doubt that Fiat Auto will ever bring them back. In fact, eight years after taking over Alfa Romeo, Fiat pulled that marque out of the U.S. market after it had been here consistently for at least 45 years. The last Lancia model that looked attractive to me was the Hyena. I agree that the Lybra wagon is a pretty good looking car but it doesn't look that much different than a number of other middle class models. I obviously have no idea what the Thesis is like to drive, but the few I saw when I was in Europe in May of 2003 did not look very graceful. I'm afraid to say that they reminded me of the largest Hyundai model. I'd settle for the return of Alfa Romeo. I'd like to be able to buy a 166.
