3B Flat Spot

Unread post by Tony Kovacevic »

I have a Flaminia PF 3B with a bad "flat spot" in the carburettor when accelerating from idle.It improves as the engine reaches operating temperature, but it is always apparent. Has anyone else experienced and overcome this problem?

I have had a 3B with the same problem. You should change the diaphragms of the accelerator pumps (2) on the carb. Once you are used to the car, you can also live with the problem by pumping the accelerator before take-off, but overhauling the pumps is the best (and not expensive) solution.

Thanks Sebastian, I had a suspicion that this was may be the the problem. I had a similar experience with one of my Fulvias a few years ago but as this is my first Flaminia, I thought I'd ask the question.

It's a known problem with the 3B setup. It was the "badest" of the 3 solutions. Best setup is the single carb.
