Jean -Andrew, Do you know if all Flaminia Touring Coupes had their firewalls undercoated. I've found the same color as the body color under the undercoating and would prefer not to reundercoat if it wasn't typical. Thanks Don

Could anyone tell me how I can get my hands on an oil cannistor for a Flaminia coupe 1960-61. My father owns one, he was changing the oil a couple years ago and has misplaced the oil filter parts so now the car is sitting. Greatful for any advise.

My father's GT Touring which we bought new in 1970 (!) has a black coated firewall. I hope this answers your question as It's not clear to me what exactly you want to know.Don wrote:

i also have a 1960, although lhd, coupe which i bought ages ago 1983 and have done very little with. But i'm all fired up now and the car is in the right place to get some attention atlast. my plan is to sort the brakes, stick on some exhausts and get the thing running properly. now here's a question for the panel! my car has (i know) the wrong carb and manifold, namely a single triple (flaminia saloon and pininfarina coupe i think) what downdraught twins were used and are they still available? question number 2, has anyone ever heard of a chap by the name of Stafford Buck if so do tell....where is he now? Hi Martin,

The problem with the missing carbs seems to be very common. My Convertibile also came with a non-original carb. These were often replaced because they obviously were rather difficult to tune correctly. The original set consists of three double Weber DCNL 35 (or, to be very precise: one Weber 35 DCNL 3 with starter and two Weber 35 DCNL 2, w/o starter). I don't know if these can still be found. But even if you manage to get them, you'd still be missing the manifold, which would be rather difficult to reproduce.

For some time now I have repeatedly seen a complete system being offered at Italian events such as Milano or Padova for about LIT 1,2 mio. (about EUR 600), in rather bad condition.

P.S. I solved my problem by buying a spare 823.10 engine which came with the original carbs and manifold. This is maybe the best way to get at this desirable part, and it leaves you with an engine you can prepare for a future replacement when and if needed. And the car sounds much better with three Webers!

I have two Touring-bodied Flaminias, a coupe and a convertible. I also have a friend who has a Touring coupe. All of these cars have rough-finish black firewalls.
