Michelin 165-400

Unread post by Norbert Dybus »

Hello,

I've just heard that the price for these tyres in Germany has gone up from €150 to €250 because
Michelin licensed a single special agent for them. This means €500 per car!
So why not use the european market?
Could you tell me, what they cost now in other european countries?
At least in France there must be thousands of Citroen owners who need those tyres too.

My last quote from a dealer in my town was €700 including the fitting and balancing for a set of five.
This was in spring.

Hi Norbert,

this is true, Michelin has handed distribution of classic tyres to one private distributor in each country. They set the prices, and do not give the regular trade discounts. A great shame and to my opinion Michelin is misusing their monopoly with newly manufactured odd sizes like 165-400.

best, Wim
