16v Integrale RHD in NZ

Post by zaccles »

Hi

Am doing a major mechanical rebuild engine, accessories ,larger exhaust , suspension, brakes, rear differential, etc etc and am aware car has a 35yr old ECU. Am interested on others opinions on options to upgrade the ECU and which is the safest to avoid gremlins.
I have the Lancia Trek program and cables I also have access to a factory Lancia diagnostic computer(not owned by me) so thats a couple of options using the old stock ECU on a rolling road.
Another option as a major upgrade is to convert the car to a new LINK ECU which reads 0-5v analog sensors but which means mods to the oil filter housing to run a new oil pressure analog sensor to the new LINK ECU alongside the factory one which sends its signal to the dash (two separate systems) and replacement of the sensors which won't talk to the LINK. Expensive.

Or simply replace the old one with a new one and use either of the first two options to tune it

Or lastly using a chip with either the old or new ECU but I'm a bit wary of this option from what Ive read.

Car wont be raced or hill climbed just driven on the road as a Sunday car

Any advice gratefully received.
