Air in the petrol inlet tube
Re: Air in the petrol inlet tube
Need to travel for a funeral now. Back Saturday. Will reply then. Thx a lot so far. I really appreciate your support!
Re: Air in the petrol inlet tube
Hi again,
The throttle cable is long enough to have a loop, but not a wide one. There is a rubber bushing, where enter the firewall. I can't see that there are two rubber rollers behind the throttle pedal. There is an adjustable screw, with a rubber damper on top of it. (see attached photo)
Clearance at the linkage, connecting the cable to the carburetor is ok. I don't have an opinion about the adjustment of the engine mount. I didn't know it was adjustable.
I doubt there is anything wrong with the throttle management. I have spent some time wondering if it's ignition or fuel related. I first tried to eliminate sources that could be related to timing point, contact breakers, ignition plugs, distributor cap, cables etc. After that I concluded that it must be fuel related, but now I'm not sure anymore. If you listen to the MP3 file (use head sets), at appr. 20 seconds, 30 seconds and 57 seconds, you can hear a hesitation, and slight misfire between 2600 and 3000 revs, then it runs smooth again. If I accelerate quickly through the gears, I can't notice anything.

Re: Air in the petrol inlet tube
The throttle cable should have room for the engine to tilt without influencing the outer cable. It should also be flexible enough. The ones with the steel spiral are usually ok. Cables with only plastic as outer cable are not ok. The plastic is not flexible enough after some time. Where the cable goes through the firewall the outer cable should be clamped in the special bush.
The bottom of the throttle lever is not on the picture. It is an inverted T with a rubber roller on each side. See https://www.pieces-fulvia.com/accelerat ... models.htm
If there is play on the white plastic pieces for the throttle linkage, here is the replacement.
