i am a new comer with a small problem, my lancia thema s2 reverse lights and indicator lights
stop working yesurday. i have a hand book that shows where the fuses are just under the dash on the drivers side and i check the fuse and they seems ok. the book let shows one fuse that control both reverse and indicator lights . also if i press the hazard switch all 4 indicator comes on. any idea what else i could check before talking it to get it check.

First thing to check is the earth points in the boot beside the spare wheel. You should be able to find the earth point quite easily in the wheel bay. The wires can sometimes become brittle and snap off from the connectors.
Whilst in the boot you should also remove the plastic holders for the light bulbs, clean out each of the sockets with some fine sandpaper and make sure that the conducting strips aren't oxidised.
The rear lights can appear very confusing because they are able to find different routes to earth, hence the hazards working but not the indicators. If the reversing light still doesn't work then check the switch on the gearbox. The switch enters the gearbox from above. The switch has a "plunger" that fits into a notch in the reverse gera selector rod when reverse is engaged. When old / worn this can sometimes get sticky and jam.
Go for the earth points first!
