checkpanel thema turbo 16v lx

I have a problem with my checkpanel. Sometimes it shows fault on my right headlight and left rearlight at the same time. I have checked the lights+ the connections- ok, and i have checked/cleaned the earth connections in the front and rear. I nave also checkes the plug behind the checkpanel. I shows fault when the car feels like it.
And when that happens, there is a red light flashing right in my face, and that's a real pain in the butt! anyone got an idea what the problem could be and where?
And how the fault indicator works?

Hello,
You are probably correct with your last comment! Not too sure about the Thema but probably the same.
For some bizarre reason in Deltas and Prismas the earth connection for the check panel is at the offside front, just behind the headlamp. Finding the earth wire at the rear connections of the panel and connecting directly to an earth point behind the dashboard will fix most odd "check" failures (other than the oil level!).

well i was going to write the same peter !

front left and rear right warning is in the checkpanel. when i put on the lights on everything its ok, but just wait a sencond and....there is the red ligt on my face !

we have all the same problems.....and this is very interesting.

your problem is in the fuse.
just clean the two light fuses and everything is fine again!!

my problem is right front light, and left rear light. If i turn off the light, the fault disappear. When i put the light on again it comes back.....

and suddently my light in my glovebox dosen't work anymore. i have changed the bulp, but no effect.

I am now the proud owner of a 1992 LS turbo Thema.

And guess what?????

However, the previous owner gave me the solution: simply give the offending panel a sharp thump and bingo! the damned thing goes out - try it: it works!

The units themselves are very reliable it is the connections that are the problem (as usual). So get that dasboard apart and fix it properly. (sounds as though yours may have a duff solder joint in the unit!) but it is easy enough to improve the earth connection (black wire).
