Owners handbook

Unread post by Peter Tyndale »

Just bought a Series 3 Thema V6. Here we go again. Came with an immaculate
owners handbook, unfortunately in German. Anyone like to trade me a book in
English or Spanish? Or, failing that, anyone have one I could buy? Better still,
anyone want to give me one? A book, I mean.

Hi Peter, got your renewal thanks!!! My V6 handbook was in French so i had no joy! Given Lancia didn't bother bringing the V6 into the Uk I don't know if an english version exists. good luck! Peter Tyndale wrote:

Lindsay,
glad you got the cheque - it shouldn't bounce.
Alan - thanks, I'll see if I can get one here.
Rolf, the car I've bought comes from Germany - and looks as though it may
be a ''rare'' 3.0 V6 LE. - it has air-con, but alcantara interior, non-electric seats
and simplified electronic dampers with no dashboard adjustment. Could you
confirm this for me? Incidentally, would one pay more for it because it is rare,
or less, for not having all the goodies?

Hello Peter!

There is a pretty good chance that you bought an LS. Doesn`t it have a badge at the front? A LE must be delivered earlier than summer of 93. Later ones are IMHO always LS.

Air condition and non-electric seats are standard at the LS level. Alcantara and the controlled dampers were addons even at the LS level.

At the LE level you could order air conditioning too at an extra charge.

As far as I know nobody will pay more than usual for a car equipped as yours is. Thats pretty close to normal. Maybe except the dampers. But who knows about that feature may avoid to buy such a car for the reason that these dampers are extremely expensive in case of a failure.

Hello Rolf,
no, no badges front or rear. Somehow, in transferring the papers into Spanish,
the car is referred to as a V6 Thema with no furthur info. However, the date of
manufacture is given as Oct 93, so it must be an LS.
One question, the interior mirror has an on/off high/low switch on it which doesn't
appear to do anything - what should it do?

Dear Peter
The switch determines how dark the mirror will gett during night driving when the beam from the car behind hits it. A nice feature. You wont see any change to the mirror when you operate the switch during daytime.
Good luck

The Thema was sold in south Africa, funnily enough, and the owners hand book was in English and Afrikaans, I had one for my Thema 2,8 V6 back in the early 90's, dont know why it was in the car because I bought it in Hannover Germany and also had the German book as well.
