Cut out at 4000 rpm

Hi folks

My 1992 Thema 16v Turbo keeps cutting out at 4000 rpm, it feels like a ignition cut out, i have checked all the basics, but cannot resolve this problem, It drives normally until 4000 rpm then it just cuts out and wont rev beyond, any thoughts or shared experiances. Help please.....

I had a similar problem on a Croma ie. It was caused by reduced fuel pressure. I finally traced the problem to a pin hole in the fuel pipe between the fuel pump and the tank top flange. So the fuel leak was entirely within the tank! A new piece of rubber pipe cured the problem.
