Hello,
usually im driving and restoring Fulvia´s, but i´ve decided to buy a Thema,
especially the SW version for daily transport.
can somebody tell me wich one is the best and worst version.
(wich year, wich engine and so on)

it depends on "how sporty" and "how expensive" your thema should be:
i prefer diesel, but i know there is a "tax-problem" in germany with diesel cars,
and of course, thema-diesel has a lot of power but is really noisy!
then i like very much the 2,0 turbo ie 16v (177PS),
very quiet, like 6-cylinder,fast, dont forget changing belts regularly and correctly,
needs a bit too much in town (14 ltr.) but
low consumption 90-120-140 km/h : between 7 !! and 9 ltr.
alltogether 10,5 ltr.
BUT:
thema models have a "unexplainable" high rate of serious motor-problems,
especially in the first series, thatswhy look for a car 1991/2 and newer.
in this case you will avoid most of rust problems, although its not themas
big problem, well they are quite old, it depends on the former owner and
were and how it was driven.
thats my opinion. although i think serie2 (1989-1992) ist "the real thema"
i admit that serie3 (1992-1995) has better quality.avoid serie1 (1985-1988)
and maybe the alfa-engine in serie3 is a good choice,too, but i havent driven this engine,

Wich is the best year or model i dont know but, one thing is for sure, my 91 16v Turbo SW, is, as we say in Portugal, "A wolf in a lamb's skin"!!!...Do I really have to say more?
