Request for help!!
Good afternoon.
I have a Thesis 2.4 JTD 20V (175 hp - cx 6 manual) with 207,000 km, always serviced on the brand and all maintenance done religiously.
About 1 year ago, following a change of tires and alignment and calibration with wheels mounted, the car began to show a problem until today and with a few thousand euros spent, still holds.
The problem has the following signs:
1. Above 40-60 km / h starts to vibrate, not only the wheel but all over the car, feeling with particular intensity in the front seats, with increasing speed the vibration does not go away and only frequency increases above 130 -140 Km / h remaining at higher speeds;
2. The direction works well, but just a continuing trend of inclined wheel to the right and the car veering to the left (when you lock the car remains right) and technical Fiat say is be an effect of the wind....;
3. The suspension works normally, without beats or noise.
4. almost simultaneously with this problem, began to feel engine vibration (?) at ralenti and Lancia hasn't detected any problem in the several tests that have made.
The problem remains unchanged, despite the Lancia had already changed 4 tires (with numerous alignments and steering wheel calibration), arms and steering and suspension front end, the steering box was checked and accused any problem, the shock absorbers were tested and are over 90% efficiency.
Finally, the Lancia's technical people don't not have the slightest idea what could be causing the problem, as confessed, and currently are prepared to start changing the missing pieces without having any idea about the cause ... they say the car already has many miles and can be anything .....
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem? All assistance is welcome because it is demonstrated that Fiat Portugal does not have a clue what is going on with the car!!
Thank you for your help!

Re: vibration in the steering wheel and bodywork - Thesis
Does the problem occurs only when accelerating, only when braking or all the time you drive the car?

Re: vibration in the steering wheel and bodywork - Thesis
I recently bought a car with a similar problem. Vibrations under the seat and on steering wheel from 70 km/h till 110 km/h, that increase when accelerating and totally disappears when releasing the accelerator.
I changed tires front and the balancing needed 100 grs of lead (a lot!)
It did not solve the problem.
Then I changed back wheels to front and front to back. The only result is that the vibration is different and at different speed...
Now I am ready to change the alloy wheels...
What is your opinion on this?
Thanks, Nadja.

Wasting time. You have a broken CV joint. From experience I can tell that it's the left (drivers side) one.

Re: vibration in the steering wheel and bodywork - Thesis
Thanks for the input Vlad, it makes sense that these are not the alloy wheels due to the fact that it aggravates with acceleration.
I also hear a sound like if the wheel bearing is wasted, when I take a turn.
I will surely check out my CV (Constant velocity
joints and post the results here....
