HELLO
Please HELP ME
I HAVE A LANCIA DEDRA 1.6IE 1992, FOR ME it is A SPECTACULAR CAR, BUT TO THE ABOUT one MONTH BEGAN to GIVE PROBLEMS.
That is to say:
WHEN I PLACE IT to WORK IN COLD it DIFFUSES WELL
A GOOD ACCELERATION... OF 1000 RPM AT THE 4000 WITHOUT PROBLEMS
BUT... Does it HEAT UP AND does she STOP ANSWERING, cannot I PASS OF 2000 RPM?????
she DIES SOON.
Is the MECHANIC CRAZY he doesn't FIND DEFECT IN ANYTHING????
Will the DEFECT BELONG TO THE MECHANIC??
Does ANYBODY KNOW THE ONE WHAT it can BE???
HELP
At once MINE thank you very much THE WHOLE ones.
EXCUSE MY ENGLISH
HELP ME PLEASE
Re: HELP ME PLEASE
when the cars dies, can it be restarted straight away or do you have to wait ?
Re: HELP ME PLEASE
I have to wait, I hope cools but even so per times it doesn't result...
Re: HELP ME PLEASE
Even a novice like me would make an educated guess that heat is causing the problem, probably a connector or wiring harness has been damaged or corroded. Just have a good hunt around under the bonnet for wiring as described. Also I recall when I had a dedra (2.0ie se) it had an intermittent (then dead) bad MAP sensor which caused occasional poor/non starting. You may have to call in an auto electrician (rather than a mechanic) the coil being hot with no ignition on is a grave cause for concern.
up and down
Hi,
What is MAP sensor, ..and where is it located. I have got Dedra Turbo and occasionaly, right afrer starting
, the engine goes up and down ( 500-1400 rpm ) for a while ( 1-3 min ). It does not matter if the engine
is cold or warm. It also feels like starting the engine would be sometimes more difficult.
As you can see I don't know much about the mechanic but I just love Lancia cars:-))
...and I am done with local Lancia/Fiat/Alfa Romeo "specialists":-)
Greetings from Finland, Jarek

Re: up and down
Hi Jarek,
Have a look at the throttle sensor, take off the large air intake hose next to this and clean up around the throttle butterfly, you will probably find this is gummed up with old petrol deposits, use a carb cleaner.
