Fiat muss 40.000 Lancia Dedra nachbessern

Nach einem Richterspruch muss der italienische Autokonzern Fiat 40.000 defekte Fahrzeuge des Typs Lancia Dedra zurückrufen. Die fehlerhafte Innenraum-Isolierung gefährde die Insassen, urteilte das Gericht.

Verbraucherschützer, die im Innenraum des Modells erhöhte Kohlenmonoxid-Werte gemessen hatten, hatten Fiat zuvor aufgefordert, die Fahrzeuge zurückzurufen. Weil Fiat die Anschuldigungen zurückwies, wandten sich die Organisationen schließlich an das Gericht.
Die Turiner Richterin Ombretta Salvelli entschied, dass der Konzern die Autos reparieren müsse, weil die Insassen durch hineinströmende Abgase gefährdet wären. Fiat habe es versäumt, den Defekt rechtzeitig zu beheben und die Händler zu benachrichtigen.

I had this problem when I had a Dedra you could smell fumes in the car. Fiat were aware of problems this is why later cars have the downturned exhaust and no extractor vent on the exhaust side. earlier cars were modified by changing the tailpipe and sealing the vent up. also I believe that they had to check all the seem seals on the rear of the car. I complained about my car and Fiat agreed to rectify it at that time (the car was about 2 years old when I bought it) but they were not effective in the repairs I managed to cure it myself by using a modified exhaust and by extending the sunroof drain tube on the exhaust side which at least resulted in no smells inside the car. these were always worst when the windows or sunroof were open
