Can anyone point me in the right direction. I have 2.0ie which feels & sounds like it is running on 3 cylinders, the car struggles on hills and the problem is worse at low revs. I have what appears to be a good spark at all 4 cylinders. I have changed the plugs, but this didn't make any difference.

That sounds a little like there might be a problem with the valves
you should probably measure the pressure on every cylinder.. if some of the 4 cylinders show less pressure than the others it means you have a leaking or inactive valve..
that can cause the struggling...(although it is most likely the electrical system)
My friend has a 2.0 Ford Sierra and it only ran on 3 cylinders, he noticed later that the valves on no:4 were so loose the were totally inactive!!! and that made the car run on 3
