17" wheels on a dedra

Is there anyone here that has experience with 17" wheels on a dedra?

Now I have 15" but I would like to have 17", and I think it is possible.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. (My car is also lowered 6 cm)

No problem at all!!!

Just put 17" on my Dedra 1.8 (Alessio Monza ) and they look very nice indeed...

As for the lowering, again no problem. Driving with KONI's (yellow) and lowering springs. The whole package as they say. Never drove better!!

So...what are you waiting for? Enjoy your Dedra even more!!!

Hi Don,

A couple of questions....

Did you have to get the arches rolled to get the rims to fit?? (or is this just a ploy by aftermarket alloy suppliers to make a few quid!?)

The other thing...

My Lancia Dedra Turbo (1993)....the speedo gave up yesterday.I have had the clocks out and it is Electronic pulse/stepper motor on the back of the speedo assembly. Problem is I cannot find any pick up on the Gearbox (cable or otherwise). the only wire I could find was for the reverse light switch.

Please help, as there isn't a Haynes manual for this thing!!!

Hi Myk,

hope you don't mind me answering the first question..

I also have 17" rims with 205/40 tyres (SP9000/Dunlop) and NO it didn't requere my arches to be rolled. And yes my car is also lowered (yellow KONI's and sport springs).

There is a simple, but very true, rule. If you want to go bigger don't exceed 2 steps up. E.g. if the car has standard 185/60 tyres, go to 205/40. This ensures you that you have all the benefits of a bigger tyre without the disadvantages.

I have a 1990 Lancia dedra too and was just wondering if some of you guys would happen to have any pictures of lowered dedras with 17" tyres or something like that?? i would be more than happy if you could e-mail me some pics?? nelsonek@netsonic.fi
and is there any web sites that have tuning parts for lancias?, and does koni have lowering kits for dedras or are they originally for some other model but can be installed on a lancia dedra??

Sorry, I didn't take any photo's of my Dedra yet..as soon as I do I will e-mail them to you.

Tuning? A lot of sites for Delta's but for Dedra's no luck so far. I'm not giving up though.

Koni has a lowering set. Look at www.koni.com. I had mine fitted with it.
Question is if you drive a sedan or wagon. For a wagon a different front shock absorber is fitted.

For Dedra excl.Wagon,4WD/Integrale KONI has the following:

Front: KONI-NUMBER: 8741-1189SPORT (adjustable!! with knob)

Rear: KONI-NUMBER: 8240-1138SPORT

These are the famous YELLOW SPORT shock absorbers. And I cann't say it enough IT IS GREAT!!! Driveability of the DEDRA becomes awesome!

# NOTE: The Lancia Dedra, Fiat Tipo/Tempra and Alfa Romeo 155 have the same platform.

hi all

sorry for the late reply

when you go for 17" its not neccesary to do bodywork modifications, but you have to buy rims with an ET (einpresstiefe) of at least 35. ET is in simple words how far the rim sticks out if you know what i mean. mive are ET35 and its verrrry close. when i take sharp turns or i drive with 4-5 persons the tire touches the body.
its recommended that you take ET38 - ET 40 to be sure...
