Delta suspension/Glasgow

Unread post by J Crossan »

I think its finally time to get some serious work done the back of my Delta. I've tried replacing rubber bushes, top mounts etc but the back end still feel wooly over pot holes etc. I'm pretty sure its down to the rear arches as they have started to rot in a big way and I'd like to get them sorted.

I'm conscience that any welding in this area may affect the alinement of the shell, and would therefor like to get the work done by someone who has experience with Deltas and this problem in particular. Can anyone recomend either a garage or individual in the Glasgow/Ayrshire area who might be able to help?

I appreciate that this kind of work is not going to be cheap (I'm a student with an expensive taste in cars) but I think its worthwhile as the the rest of the body is in excellent condition and theres no way I'd scrap it. I plan to have the work done and then replace the rear dampers and springs, and hopefully polybush the joints at the same time. I don't however want to fit hugely expensive Spax Koni etc equiptment, as these in my experiance ruin the ride. Does anyone have experiance with Avo/Monroe shockers and know if these would stiffen things up without recking the ride?
