Yes you should!

When the Escort Cosworths were trying to win rallies the only things that stopped them (asside from their own reliability problems) was the already long established Lancia Delta Intergrally.

Performance of the road going cars is very similar but I reckon that the Delta will handle better as its fundamental chassis design is for supperior to the horrible Mk5 Escort that the Cosworth was based on.

I'm not sure if the Delta ever made it to North America and I know that the import laws are such that a car had to be offered for sale there to be brought in unless its over 25 years old (in which case you would have to wait a while before bringing a Delta in).

Kind Regards,

The escort cossie was actually based on the saphire chassis. The body was just shaped to look like an escort.

Both are four wheel drive and similar performance.

IMHO 'Grales look 10 times harder. But a Ford is probably cheaper to maintain.

Although there isnt even the slightestpossibility to find an Integrale in the US, I strongly suggest it, only if you can drive really good. The 'grale is an absolute piece of machinery and it it oriented in pure sporty driving. It is difficult to drive to the limit, but it can beat the hell out of almost every recent car. The Escort is easier to use but doesnt have anything to offer over the brilliant grale.

Trust me, I used to have one and I know. Now I drive a Delta HF 2.0 Turbo, '97 model which is also brilliant! If you need more info go to WWW.Geocities.com/primo_hf

... regret to give you the bad news ... as far as I am aware there is only one Integrale that was imported into the USA, and its registration document shows it as a 1979 Beta! Apparently there is no way in the world that the Delta Integrale will pass the USA emission and type approval (or whatever it is called) laws ie it appears to be impossible to federalise it. Unless you can convice your state that it is a 1979 Beta! Betas were sold in the USA I understand.

Neil
