TV Tuner - remove speed limit 7km/h

Hi All!

Anybody has information how possible to remove 7km/h speed limit from TV Tuner?

Is it limited by head unit, or TV Tuner knows the speed, and disable the output?

Hi Arnold,
I doubt that anybody in Germany cares about the speed limit: analog TV is no longer broadcasted over here which means the TV tuner in our Thesis is useless .....

There's only one speed information shared trough CAN, so you can't remove it because you will see an error, the doors won't be closing, the front parking sensor won't turn off etc. I'm working on different project, I hope it will be finished soon.

Remove the speed signal with a "tricky" CAN box installed before Screen and/or Tuner is maybe enough.
(just like case of BMW, Mercedes etc.)

I'm thinking about to install rear view camera to the tuner video line...
(it's the fastest way to install... I know, not perfect

I don't know how it works in other cars, but the problem is not that the video signal is only stopped but its switched to other source and it's made by the central cube behind the screen. So some box between the screen or tuner is useless. This cube is receiving the signal from CAN, but if you stop the connection, the cube is also used to set up the door locking etc. I've seen one thesis owner done this, but as I've mentioned, error was present on the dashboard and many functions not working.
And about the rear camera, if you have a TV tuner so it's possible, but if not, I'm not sure you know the video communication protocol because if you do, you won't be thinking about this installation, because you would need a special converter which I haven't found nowhere (only contrary), or you could use old videorecorder, what is in my opinion not the best solution.

Video converter is no problem. Any type of CVBS mono kamera can drive RGB lines with Sync if You connect all the lines together.
The picture will be monochrome, but it's unimportant in this case.

(practically an analog switch is preferred for this operation. CD4066 or something similar. Basicly Screen lines switched to Tuner, case of rear drive disconnect from tuner connect all RGB+Sync lines to camera.)

In this case it's possible, but I decided for version with changed screen with better resolution and touch option, which will be used for integrated computer operation. This screen has hdmi, AV and vga input with one AV input for reverse camera, when the camera turns on the input is automatically changed. The original RGB connect picture is changed and upscaled to 1080i with converter, than connected do hdmi input. Computer will be switched simply by changing the input what gives me many more options like garmin navigation, bluetooth handsfree, DVB-T tuner, mp3 HDD, dvd, avi, mail, internet browsing, live car diagnosis etc. The computer is using special car management software with touch interface with two independent screens so one will be for rear passengers. That's the reason why I asked you for ability of steering wheel buttons operation for PC
Now I'm waiting for GPS module to arrive and everything else is already bought, so than I can finally start finishing my project.
