Re: S2 axle boot replacement
Thanks for the information. The parts have arrived. I opted for the modern accordion style boots in place of the original style. I'll work on the car this weekend hopefully.

S2 axle boot replacement
Hello, I have a '72 Fulvia. I happened to notice a small tear in the left outer (wheel) CV joint boot when doing the annual maintenance day before yesterday. It is the old/original style design. I have ordered a new set for both sides (modern accordion style). I had a few questions I was hoping some...

Re: Looking for your honest opinion
Ads seem to have expired. My general thoughts on the purchase of a Fulvia: The mechanical upgrades of the second series can make a compelling case, but you have to see which one visually appeal to you more. I find the steering wheel, instruments and green carpet of the series 3 as being a bit object...

Re: Oil pressure build up
It is a substantial filter so that's possible, but the max pressure reading at 1200 rpm would still be anomalous. Does the filter you're using have a non-return valve? I've received both types when I have purchased new ones. Restarting after a short time should result in immediate pressure with a fi...

Re: Oil pressure build up
The 7-8 seconds for the pressure to register when cold seems abnormal. The rise to max pressure (~70 psi) at 1200 rpm seems normal due to the viscosity if you're using something like 20W-50. But I am a little surprised that it's able to achieve that pressure when hot from 2500 rpm. Typically that oc...

Heater control removal
Hello, I would like to get some advice on the removal of the heater controls lever on a Series 2 Fulvia. The top most lever for opening the hot water valve is broken and I have a replacement. The lever works fine, but the molded black plastic tip is broken. Feeling things out, I was able to remove t...

Re: S2 front suspension buffers
Downsized the images on my computer (site still returned an error for file size being too large).
So here you can see the old and new buffers, and the left buffer installed. Really happy with the attitude of the car now and the clunk from the torn lower shock bushing is gone.

Re: S2 front suspension buffers
Success. Installed new 90mm buffers and shocks in the front. Car now sits perfectly level and rides well. The lower bushing was cut on the right side so the occasional clunk noise is gone. I would like to add two photos, but got an error message that the files are too big. I guess this site doesn't ...

Re: S2 front suspension buffers
Thank you for the detailed response. I'll go ahead with the installation of the 90mm buffers. The shocks in the car now have a fully exposed rod at the bottom end and an accordion style wiper seal that fits onto the upper tube. I've not seen that style in any picture so far. The front left of the ca...

S2 front suspension buffers
Hello, I have a 1972 Fulvia 1.3S. I am looking to replace the front shocks and the buffers that sit between the transverse leaf spring and upper control arms. The car sits a little low in the front, and the current buffers measure 61mm (front wheels off the ground). I would like a lift of 10-15mm. T...
