Re: Carb acceleration problem

I also had considered that... and there seems to be something to it! So after a fair bit of tuning (idle screws) she is running substantially better B), not that she wasn't running "well" prior to that. The flat spot seems to be mostly gone... and yes it did mean turning the screws in abou...

Re: Carb acceleration problem

The more I think about it the more I believe it to be an accelerator pump problem.

The question is: What is the correct way to check its stroke and when it comes into play (if this can be checked)?

Re: Carb acceleration problem

It appears to be anytime I accelerate hard, ie push the pedal down quickly. When I slowly and progressively accelerate the symptoms are there but much less pronounced, which brings me back to the accelerator pump. Is it possible that the duration of the squirts are too short? I know there is a volum...

Re: Carb acceleration problem

Carb cleanup

Hi Everyone,

I found this photo tutorial and thought it might be of use to anyone that has not opened up their carbs for a good cleanout, it is in French but then there is Google Translate!

Re: Block, piston rings

Thanks Tim, will give them a try..

Ed: You are of course correct... never assume anything! I however am sure they are standard.

Block, piston rings

I'm going to have my block rebored and sleeved, the pistons appear to be fine, I would however like to replace the rings but unfortunately
I am unable to source them locally, are there "compatible" rings that can be used? Thanks.
