Engine stalls after highway run

Hi, I have a problem with my Beta Spider 1.6:
after having driven on the highway for a longer while and having to stop at the exit, the engine always stalls. When I then try to restart (that is, IF the engine wil start again...), it doesn't un smoothly and I have to floor the throttle to try and convince him and I have to keep the revs above 3000 rpm to get home (which is not a good thing for the clutch...). First I thought it was the ignition, but I have allready changed plugs, cables and distributor cap... Could the problem be the carburettor...? I have to mention that the car runs on LPG (but the problem occurs on LPG and on petrol, which made me think initially the carburettor could not be the problem...).
Help!

Hi Kevin,

I have a Trevi that suffered many irritating fuel problems, stalling, high revving, high fuel consumption,
you name it. I tried everything short of dismantling the Carb.

Finally I got a Kit from a webber specialist and dismantled the bugger.
I replaced all the diaphragms and gaskets along with assorted other moving parts.
It took about 2 hours to do the job and it was well worth it.

If you are looking for a possible quick fix it could possibly be the idle adjustment screw needs to be
released a little . It is located at the base of the Carb.
