nun hat es mich auch erwischt. Bisher hatte ich ja keine größeren Probleme mit meinem Thesis ausser der üblichen Kleinigkeiten EBP, die gewechselt werden musste. Letzte Woche hatte ich meine Thesis zur Werkstatt gebracht, da seit längerem schon die Airbag Leuchte vor sich hin leuchtet. leider so dauerhaft, dass ich schon vermutet hatte, dass es kein wackeliger Stecker ist, wie so oft. Nun rief mich die Werkstatt an, es ist der Gurtstraffer auf der Fahrerseite, der defekt sei. Alle Möglichkeiten hinsichtlich Kontaktprobleme rund um den Gurtstraffer wurden untersucht, doch gebracht hat es nichts. Nun muss wohl ein neuer Gurtstraffer verbaut werden, Kostenpunkt ca 380 Euro plus Einbau. Dazu noch das kleine Problem, dass derzeit noch nicht geklärt werden konnte, ob das Teil überhaupt lieferbar ist. Also wenn jemand eine Idee hat, ob es noch andere Problemstellen gibt, die sich indirekt auf den Gurtstraffer auswirken können, lasst es mich wissen, ansonsten kann ich nur hoffen, dass der Wagen wieder fertig wird, bis im Feb evtl das Mini Treffen im Raum Köln stattfindet.

Sometimes can be usual connector problem. What does the diagnosis say? Is the error broken tensioner or only the connection to it? How do you know your EPB is fault? Is there an error on the dashboard but is working ok when engine on? If so there's nothing broken and the problem is the simplest ever.

I was referring to the EPB problem I had about one year ago. At that time the EPB module was definitely not working. As I mentioned, so far this was the only serious issue I faced during the last years with my Thesis.
With regard to the "Gurtstraffer" the Examiner showed the error code 11 "Zündkreis Gurtstraffer links unterbrochen". The mechanics have tested all possible connectivity issues that could cause this kind of message but they couldn´t manage to solve it this way. They even tried with a new sensor but it was without success.
Therefore they believe that there might be an issue within the system that they cannot repair without changing the whole unit. I cannot judge the necessity but typically I trust my dealer and they are quite experienced with the Thesis.

That's great you have your own good mechanic, usually it's not so easy. Before buying a new part you can take into consideration this offers, usually the seller gives also the guaranty.
