Beta 2000 motor change

Got a nasty little noise coming from the motor. I'm inclined to blame the fuel
I'm using - BP unleaded with an unidentified additive. I have access to a
couple of Thema 2 litre engines, one an 8 valve, and the other 16.
Does anyone have any experience with fitting either of these to a Beta? is
it viable? or am I better off repairing the original?

Peter,
Unfortunately the Thema is a reversed head type engine and will not fit into the beta easily.... you can use the Thema 8V pistons in a Beta, but that's about it. Sorry to be such a wet blanket!

pity, seemed like a good idea.
Maybe I'll just fit the 832 engine after all.!!
