Im preparing my new lancia thesis webpage, where I could share all my experiences, projects, tutorials and other useful and interesting stuff. Im thinking of starting it as the beta version is already done. I would like the site to be not for me but for us, so

it's always very useful to share as much as possible information especially as you are a real expert like you could prove during our event last weekend.
I was thinking of how we could integrate your knowledge and conzent under the existing roof of the thesis-treffen.de website where we do have a support and help section as well rather than developing someting new.
Maybe you can talk or exchange your Feedback on this with our Webmaster from the Orga Team, Ivo.

Thanks very much for your opinion, I was discussing this with ivo far more before the meeting, but there are some reasons why Ive decided to go this way. At first Im not good in german (my site will be in english), second, I would like to use this site for some more things like sharing my thesis photos, videos etc. (also my other slovak and czech thesis friends have their own tutorials and one is already preparing a big article comparing kappa and thesis) and the most important third reason is, I believe there would be much more to put on the site, so it would be easier for me and also for ivo. Plus as there are some information steeling and accroaching sites like facebook and google I would prefer this one to be on my own server.

Its a pitty we didnt know about each other sooner (because of the language barrier), because there is a small thesis community in central europe too (at about 7). We are in contact nearly avery day. Im the one who started it and thats the point why I know how to fix some problems, most of them I fixed myself but my friends had some problems which I never had. We also have some small meetings like only two or three at once, but today one of them asked my why not to organize a bigger one. In two weeks he will be in Bratislava, so we will discuss more details than.

I think .info would be the most suitable TLD.
I also think that your project (in english) and the thesis-treffen.de page (in german) can exist very well in parallel and profit from each other, now that the contact is established. Technical tips and other supportive information can be translated and appear on both websites in their respective languages and naming the source and author, as a matter of course.

Thats for sure the author names will stand everywhere. And Ive never wanted thesis-treffen.de to be less than mine. Of course we will find the best way how to work besides
