FAO all S1 Fulvia owners:

It has been a long wait but I have just had confirmation from Bridgestone themselves today.

B381 145/80R14 tyres are now back in production - originally for the super efficient Audi A2 1.2 TDI but great for S1 Fulvias - those that have them say 10% better fuel economy than normal 1.3 S1 !

£51.50 each incl VAT, delivery and Fitting.

Order them from:

That's indeed good news. Do you know if they'll be available in the US (or at least if they'll be US DOT marked)?

BTW, that should be *almost* all S1 Fulvias. Original size for my S1 is 175/80HR13. No chance of that, I'll wager...

175/80R13 is available from Kumho and GT Radial.
175R13 is available from Uniroyal and Toyo.

The Toyos are available in the US. I ran them for about a year, but they're mediocre tires--fine for fuel economy but not for handling. The Kumho (white sidewall) is also available in the US; Uniroyal and GT Radial aren't available in that size in the US. But none of those tires are even close to the level of the original equipment Michelin XAS. I've currently solved the problem with 185/80 XAS; fantastic handling, but one size too large, which means some clearance issues at the front. Fortunately, with the Bridgestone 145/80-14 back in production most S1 Coupes won't have to resort to such a compromise.
