Hi folks,

just ordered a new FRAM oil filter for the Fulvia - It arrived promptly but unfortunately looks like it was dropped / dented in transit.

Thread looks fine.

Would the casing dents affect oil flow?

I suppose it depends on just how bad the dents are. But I must confess I wouldn't risk it. Also, I'm curious why you had to mail order? There's nothing special or unusual about the Fulvia filter. I use Motorcraft FL-1A, but there are many other equivalents.

sorry Luke, I hope it wasn't you who forwarded or packed a "undented filter" that reached LFW dented-.

concerning bottles....I drank 'em all & there are none (full) left ... at least for the rest of 08.
I'm "off the drink".. until 1Jan 09,. annnnnyway !
Then, I will see further what to do....or not to do !
About 3 yrs ago I dented - no, not a filter - a shiny new car - in my own garage - after drinking (only) "a few bottles" ...so I went off "the drink" for 6 months...&, amazingly - I survived it !
The dumb thing was that I wasn't even driving the car when it occurred. Last week I was traveling, attending meetings, going out in the evening (sometimes only out of a hotel-room & down to the restaurant, where lots of "Vino de la Casa" was waiting....
On this trip too many drinks were drunk...which, giving to my low-tolerance, wasn't really "too much" !
But the further I got into the week the more I began to feel a bit dented myself.
So its water for the next few months.
I will probably lose a few kg too, which won't hurt.
