Hello Everyone Who Was There,
J # 1 J # 2 say thanks; for friendship, (fast) (safe) driving lessons, boggling-scenery, food, wine, Belgian beer & some history about Belgian beer (& politics), grappa, food, coordination, organization, hard work, jokes, tech-advice, more jokes, hundreds of smiles, more & more food, stories (some good, some funny & some good 6 funny & some that fall into the "whatever" category) ...
sorry we had to abandon you all early & couldn't travel with you (husstling like hell to keep up !) today, but tomorrow is the 1st day of school after summer-holidays (without sun !!!) & J Jr. shouldn't fall asleep on the 1st day (or any other day) of school.
Bart reviewed the todays activities with us at breakfast & we realized we couldn't risk another day of fun, food, friendship & still make it home in good shape. We are 10kg heavier (per John) but happy !
As soon as we left the hotel heading north the clouds disappeared & the sun shown down on us !
The traffic was light & we made it home in 2.5 hours of fast (Fulvia Zagato 1.3 fast, not Ferrari fast or (certainly) not silver 135HP, 1.6 Hot-Rod (nice dash wood!) Zagato fast.
We expected a 4 hour grey, wet trip, we got to enjoy 2.5 hours of warn sunshine & dry roads !!!
Thank you, Weather God (s) !!
We felt bad not being able to chat with everyone who attended; those I knew from 2007 & those we just met...but there were so many of us !!! I hope to see you all (& more) in 2009 !
In any case, we can now relieve Claire as being the the youngest Fulvisti ... since John #2 has promised so many of you to return...but what will he be driving ?
I promised a few folks my email address: it is : info@magic-drinks.de.
if you are near Heidelberg...whenever...pop me I line & we can have a drink together !!
Next year we will (somehow) pack more little bottles with green, burgandy & brownish" liquid in the car (maybe we need to take a bigger car next year !!!), so we don't have "too little to drink", as we did on this trip. If we had packed in anything else, one of us would have had to stay home !!!
We hope you all had (another) great day today & all made it home to "where ever" safe and healthy... .. your lovely Fulvia ( & Flavia) too.
Oh yes, my personal highlight was (finally) seeing a Zagato wearing "protective-eyewear" & hearing good arguments about why I "need to have them" on my car soon.
Take car J & J
Event Update - the trip of 10,000 shifts !
Re: Event Update - the trip of 10,000 shifts !
Bart & Huib did it again!
A wonderful weekend. All the ingredients for a special meeting were there. Thanks!
Lucas; thanks for the beautiful Fulvia adds in the roadbook.
Dear John & John and Tim & Sarah,
I didn't see you leaving yesterday, so couldn't say goodbye.
John & John it was nice to meet you (again). And please John, don't leave your Zagato in the garage untill the next Fulvia meeting. Enjoy some more trips with her and John Jr.
John Jr, we'll see you behind the steering wheel next year.
Tim and Sarah, I hope you enjoyed your first trip with your beautiful Zagato, with many more to follow. It was a pleasure to meet you. See you next year.
All the best,
Claire

Re: Event Update - the trip of 10,000 shifts !
To all - I did email you seperately but for the record - fab trip.
Best was all helping me get my car going although the mystery deepens as the condenser was not to blame - but why did it start again and run without a further problem????
Sorry not say good by to John and John - didnt know you wernt comin, and Claire you must have been the only one we missed at the meal. Still dreaming of our car misfiring up the hill chasing yours until ours expired!.
John if you want me to get the covers please let me know. I guess you would need to give me your surrounds as Omicron now tailor them to individual cars after the first batch problems.
Tim and Sarah
And yes god and diary willing we'll be back!!

Update - trip of 10,000 shifts !
Bella Mia Claire...
our Zagat doesn't only live in the garage !!!
We did a less exciting & far slower event in the Zagat up in the Odenwald-Forest near Frankfurt in July; far fewer km & far closer to home...
I'd give that "Event" a solid 4 of 10 points + 1 for being "just up the road" !
A lot of standing around & "shooting-the-breeze" (chit-chatting) with our Lancia & (yes, we will admit it) Fiat friends in the Royal-Park where we started & ended each day. That was fun too, since some of them had come up from Italia & they had funny stories to tell us !!!
John got to drive at that event....in the grass in the park, in 1st gear. He was still happy !
Well, the Fulvia Benelux/France Tour #2 (for you & for me) gets a solid 11 of 10 points, from both Johns.
Guess who is back in school this week & who gets to wash the car ? Ha Ha...I am still good for somethings around here !!!
See you...we hope..in 2009...to see what great-progress you have again made on your "lovely" Fulvia.

Re: Event AFTER REPORT - 10,000 shifts !
for those who met my able co-pilot during the !10,000 shifts" BE/F Fulvia event last month a&for anyone else who cars to listen: if you have speakers attached to your computer, have a listen to John Gittar-Player & Song-Writer.
http://www.guitarsolos.de/index.php?id=344. He has other songs on this site as well. # 3 he didn't write (unless he was born about 400 years ago).
I haven't yet asked him, but I think # 2 is Mike Oldfield influenced. Perhaps # 1 as well; although he says it is more 'pre Deep-Purple Steve Morse' .
Anyway, Burned Kills's (Berndt Kiltz) guitarsolos.de is a neat website: where different-musical-tastes might find a music-flavor they enjoy. Or not !
Maybe they (Berndt & John)can next lay on a backround of a roarty Fulvia over a joint song !
Ruum Ruum Ruum, tat tat tat, pop pop pop; hey ..... that has a nice beat !Joop wrote:
