fulvias & more for sale
recently while in italy I wasted some (free) time & looked -into-the-big-Luzzago-Exhibition Hall.
Not too many Italo's, but many Anglicno's...incl. a bevy of lovely racing E-types,
1971 Fulvia Coupe 1.3 S S2 (818-630) Chassis: 009690 - Engine 818.630 tipo 818.303
1298ss, km 73200 indicated ?; 5 owners
Omologations: attestato ASI Color: rosso con cofani neri - Inner nero
Body /Mechanic: buone condizioni Accessories: cerchi in lega, radio dell'epoca
&
1972 Sport Zagato1.3 S (818.650) (ugly steering wheel) Chassis 818650-002211 Engine 818.303
1298cc KM: 78000 indicated ? 6 Owners Colou: bianco Inner : nero
Body & Mechanics: buone condizioni Accessories: cerchi in lega
& my favorites on this visit:
1963 Osca Maserati 1600 GT 2 SEBRING FISSORE - TUBULAR CHASSIS
1963 Osca Maserati (Pininfarina body similar to Fiat Spyder of same era; in this case a hardtop)
1600 S COUPE S1 (118 SB).
The 2d was lovely & rare; the 1st was well....just check www.luzzago.com
I then toodled 1km down the road, past Bresciacar; who I'd never visited before.
I'd only seen Lotus in the showroom before....OK - 1x I did see a lovely light blue Aprillia Spyder , but it was evening, so I didn't stop...for more than 10 minutes anyway !.........
This week I stopped...there was a Fulvia Fanalone ( I didn't know it was a Fan until I went inside) in the showroom. Just check www.bresciacar.it for details. I was told - "real km, never raced & 1 of last Fan's (perhaps last ? I don't remember) built, as perfact as one can be found........not cheap".
Behind it I saw (day jay Vu !) the same
63 Osca Maserati 1600 GT 2 SEBRING FISSORE - TUBULAR CHASSIS that I'd just seen at Luzzago !
Actually, it was another one.....just as beautiful.
I didn't ask any prices ! I was, however, told...while chatting wirh Maurizio Annibaletto about "this & that", that I was not really driving the "quickest driving / evening traffic-route" to Genova !!
Mile-wise, yes...traffic wise no !
I was pointed in the right direction & had a nice drive in the country pastCrema & Cremona, on past Piacenza (in the expensive Holiday Inn I was told "all Hotels in the City are full, so continue west for 15km more & exit.
I did & discovered that the Hotel wasn't full, nor was the restaurant. &
a) food was great & not expensive...
b) waiter was great...& funny - . I fumbled with Italian while he fumbled with English ...
c) the 'Vino de la Casa' was great
d) the room was cheap -2/3 less than 15km up the road
e) parking lot was locked & guarded at night
d) good coffee next day.
I was, of course, on this 2200km in 4 day trip - not driving a Fulvia.

Re: fulvias & more for sale part Due
at home this evening we have been relooking at the 2 Osca Fissore & the Osca Zagato in the 2 above mentioned websites.........& noticed, yes - both Fissore are Sebrings - but are not 100% similar...
the dual carb Bresciacar Fissore has a double-bubble top, different rear fender treatment & taillights than the single-carb Luzzago Fissore (will be delivered with the double carb)..
we will be counting our pennies & return...to the cheap hotel...but not to Luzzago nor to Bresciacar...except to look again.
In both showrooms they told me that italy is running out of old sports cars to export ! Get 1 quick !

Re: fulvias & more for sale
I didn't even think about insulting Bresciacar by asking what anything cost, since i have no intention / have no money to buy more Lancia that I have no more place to park in winter...thanks to a kind neighbor I have 2 free garages now & I can't expect more kind neighbors to pop up soon. They invited me (since my Italia office is in the neighborhood) to stop by any time & look at the cars parked upstairs......I will do this in ca. 2 weeks...
even if I have to make excuses to leave the office early !
As of 3 days ago the Fan wasn't sold..........at that price it may sit for a long time.
I didn't write the following (edited in lenght) article about the Osca.1600..but will print it anyway:
1958-61 - # Produced - at least 56 (32 Zagato ?, 2 Boneschi, rest Fissore ? )
Original Price $7,000 V Now aluation $65,000 - $85,000 ?
By time 1600 GT was born, Maserati bro's ceded control of company to MV Agusta . Has there ever been a family so good @ innovation; so hopeless @ business management? idea behind 1600 = a hi-perform, road GT - appeal to large group of buyers. In fact, was OSCA's swan-song. It had chassis ladder tube frame &4-cyl twin-cam engine, innovative 4-wheel Girling disc brakes; all independent suspension. 4 states of tune, starting GT (1x 36mm Weber carb, 95 hp ) ; ending GTS (twin-plug head, 2x 45mm Webers, 140 hp). Most had 4-er gearbox, but 5-er box was homologated on competition cars. 3 builders: Zagato, Boneschi, Fissore. Controversy about # of cars. #'s start with 001-end with 127. It appears, that 56 were made. I've reason to believe - were more built. Records indicate 2 Boneschi's built, I've owned more than that ! Boneschi's = ugly; modest priced; Fissore's= bland, but still value-challenged.
The "design " is Zagato, in 3 configurations: smooth roofline,; double bubble, double bubble w/ air vents above rear window. All Z OSCAs came with fragile & irreplaceable. Amadori mag-alloy wheels.
Z OSCAs should be worth more, as they are only OSCA that can both be driven comfortably & raced.
My comment: Z Fulvias too...too a degree !

Re: fulvias & more for sale
oooops, I can't remember all of the "what color cars I saw where"; but I am "back-in-Brescia" again for a few days later this month...so i can easily return.
Not being "specific" about what car, where &/or when...but when i see a "otherwise nice looking ca" that has - at some point in its life- been painted without a proper-disassembly I get : a) angry b) concerned.
As my friend & Auto-Expert Michael Bass of Ft. Lauderdale told me years ago..."motors can be done.....major accidents - especially if well-hidden - can't ; just like rust.
I tend to be real picky when walking around "anywhere" looking at any cars...
I stopped believing 50% (or more) of what I am being told by a Car-Salesman.---! note: I were one once -
for many years - so I know all the "stories"...although new ones are always popping up !
I stopped believing about 50 years ago, although am not old enough to remember anything that happened 50 years ago...
Cheech, I can't even remember what happened yesterday or where I put my keys 5 minutes ago...but I can "smell a car story 50 miles away"...even the good & honest ones. Which is the other 50%.
Let me know if I should bother them a Luzzago again.
Honestly . if they are busy I don't bother them, open doors or hoods, sit in or even touch anything.

Re: fulvias & more for sale
Part Due: I checked the web-site & my initial posting & now know which Z you are referring to.....
yes I saw it & remember looking in it / at it...and thinking "nice car"; but can't recall specifics.
I do remember seeing a Fulvia with a huge-crack in the S2 plastic steering-wheel...something I've never seem before in a Fulvia...it may be in the Z,
Offer is still opened ... I can probably go past Bresciacar / Luzzago 6x a year without driving more than 20 meters out of where I am going.....lI visit Brescia ess in winter...more in spring & fall.
I will take a camera, if not for the Z... definitely for the 2x Osca Fissore; Osca Pinin, not forgetting the
"Dream-Fanalone" !!

Re: fulvias & more for sale
Its not that I'm looking for a Z as I have a series 1 1300 waiting for fresh paint and assembly (can't deside the color yet) But as Zagatos tend to be worth more than coupes and this one was offfered for 8000 euro it must be either to good to be true and hence people don't trust it (try to restore a Z for this money) or it is a pile of rubbish.
Re: fulvias & more for sale
I hate to say this, but I will anyway:
I have a darn-near-perfect Z . Not everbody is in love with the blue tail end on this red Z.
If someone offered Euro 10,000 - & exported it (= no VAT) - I would not be happy, but I would sell it anyway..... At Fulvia meetings I would be a "co-pilot" !
I simply have too many nice old-er Lancia to drive (or push around the storage shed) & my job/business keeps me jumping around Europa on trips where I can not drive a older Lancia. I must drive a "serious, safe, economical & spacious vehicle". Things could be worse !!!
Of my older Lancia "y Z" is:
1) the 1 I love most
2) - the 1 my family asks me not to drive
3) the 1 I havn't seen (it is buried in a remote corner) for months
4) the 1 I assume I won't see for at-least-2-more weeks (it is cold & rainy on the Continent & still snowing in some regions !!) I am driving a Gamma Coupe daily, rain regardless.
5) the 1 I will drive (or push) right back to its corner as soon as Indian-Summer passes
6) the only 1 I will rejoice about if no 1 wishes to buy it.
Oh Well !!! Does anyone want a Gamma ?
