Fulvia/Flavia rally - huge thanks

What a great event it was. I loved meeting Lancia fans all brought together from different countries, the road routes were brilliant (there is clearly some work for me to do on my suspension), and Huib and Bart had arranged perfect weather. It was good to put faces to names and to see everyone's cars. Every Fulvia and Flavia has grown a little bit different from its sisters over the years, and their organic evolution is fascinating.

I was sorry we had to leave just as the Sunday lunch was starting, but after as rapid a drive as our ears could stand we made the ferry just as our line was starting to load. Perfect timing. We covered 2054km door-to-door, including lots of 130km/h autoroute driving, and the HF used less than a litre of oil which is quite good, I think.

Thank you to everyone involved in the organisation. Here's to next year - we'll be there.

John

Let Sarah and I repeat John's thanks for a fab weekend.

We were sorry to have missed saying formal goodbyes to Henry/Jahn, John magic drink, and others when we shot off to follow Huib to the final lunch stop.

We stopped off on Sunday to see Laon the following day but it was covered in fog - even on the hill top! So we did some other country road navigation to get back to Calais, but discovered as Huib has inthe past that the roads to the west of France are slower and less attractive, with us ending up having to vector back onto the A1/A26 for a final dash for the ferry.

I havent done the final statistics but we covered over 1200 miles at an average of 31 mph (not bad for a 1600), and after an oil top up before the start of the rally the car didnt use any further oil over the next 800miles.

I will try to write this one up for LMC.

Best and until next year (when we can pick up our Lancia cap!).

Tim and Sarah
