Have just had my V4 Fulvia engine reparied and it's ready to install.
Have access to an engine crane.
Gearbox, driveshafts, subframe, carbs all in place.
Any advice on best way to install?
Is there a gasket between bell housing and engine?
Kind Regards

lift gearbox up at bell end with jack, (you may want to undo the drive shafts..), lightly grease quill shaft, have engine hanging at approx same angle in hook, pray, lower, engage. It should go smoothly, recommence if it sticks somewhere. Fix bolts, lower assembly (engage bolts between engine and subframe / between arm under ventilator and subframe) before final positioning/lowering.
no gasket between engine and bell housing.

Great will try that.
Any tips for exhaust manifold? I hear some people leave off the hardest to reach bolt!

re exhaust manifold dont leave any bolt off. My tip is to lightly engage all bolts before doing any up. After a few times you learn like a blind man with your eyes shut!. I always start from underside and have the road wheel off to get access to the rear bolt. you need a variety of 13mm open and ring spnners to do up.....

After having done a couple of 100 there is no hardest to reach bolt. As Tim says you can do it blindfolded in the dark with your hands tied behind your back by using a 13 ring spanner and all 4 wheels firmly on the ground.
Or are you talking about one of the 3 bolts for the down pipe? Best weld new bolts to the flange every time you have the manifold in your hand. When welding them make sure you have a spare down pipe attached to the manifold to ensure proper positioning.
