Hey all...
I'd like to find a replacement set of shiny new lug bolts for my standard steel 14"x4.5" wheels. Mine are are rusty and haven't cleaned up very well. I found a Fiat site with the following:

12mm x 1.25 pitch threads, 19mm or 17mm hex head, 28mm threaded length, 55m overall length

Is this correct for a 1975 Fulvia 3? If not, what should I be looking for?

As you can probably surmise from the trend of thought in these posts, I've found a website where I can order either Dacromet or Chrome finish 14x1.5 ballseats in a variety of sizes.

Just looking for someone to do a sanity check to make sure I'm ordering the right thing!

I suspect you found my questions on this topic from 1/06! Yes, 14x1.5 is correct, and I think you can choose either 17 mm or 19 mm hex head to taste. I would probably go for 19 mm.

As for the shank length, I can't answer that directly, because I converted my S2 front wheels to studs and nuts. But a rule of thumb that I remember is that the threads should engage for a depth that's at least equal to the diameter of the bolt, 14 mm in this case. So a few quick measurements should tell you what length is needed.

One thing to watch is that some of these bolts do not have threads all the way up to the bolt head -- there's a region with no threads. This is fine with alloy wheels; in fact it's probably desirable. But the stock steel wheels are quite thin, so you really need the threads to go all the way up to the bolt head.

Now I think about it, that may have been one of the reasons I converted to studs ... that, and the fact that it's much easier to mount the wheels with studs rather than bolts.

Fulvia wheels mount easily as Lancia created a flange on the hub to sit the wheel.

I wonder why you dont get your bolts rechromed as this is a better and cheaper solution.

The Fiat site I was looking at was http://www.fiatwheels.com/bolts_detail.htm.
Turns out this is NOT correct for Fulvia, but hope it helps you Stephan.
