High rear on Fulvia
Hi Guys, Is there any simple way of reducing the tail up stance of the Fulvia? Mine sits particularly high at the back.

sack o' cement or a heavy tool box/lotsa spares. ha ha !
at a Gamma meeting in Holland early this summer my friend (everybody's friend) Huub (not Huib) had tons of parts & 3 spare tires at the Gamma International 07 Meeting, in case anyone else had a problem. I had a jack, jack handle & screwdriver.
Huubs car also sat "up", but in the front.
No one had a problem, so Huub had to take them all back home - until next year !

Are you sure the swing at the rear of the rear spring is vertical and not horizontal?

Huib, I'm not sure what you mean. By the "swing" are you talking about the shackle, cause it seems to me that it would be impossible for this to be vertical

Thanks Peter. Can you or anone tell me what material the "interleaving" is made of, so that I can replace mine when I remove one of the leaves.
Is there a shortcxut or simple method to removing the springs. You guys talk about doing it as if it were a brief afternoon experience

PS please bear in mind that I live in South Africa and our weak currency makes a purchase from Omicron on the pricey side. As well as keeping my S2 running, I am doing a body up restoartion on a S1, so funds are somewhat limited

Yes, the shackle. Occasionally my english let's me down.
If the springs are not properly mounted it sort of points forward. This is not correct. It should hang downward more or less vertical.
Take the schackle off. You may also have to remove the bolts from the shocks. Also loosen the bolts clamping the silentbloc(s) at the front of the rear spring.
Stretch the spring. I use a long piece of M20 or M22 thread, a nut and a steel tube over the thread. Put this tool between the ends of the spring and turn the nut till the spring is reasonably flat.
Put the shackle back on. Do not tighten the nuts. Do put the bolts fo the shocks back in but do not tighten them.
Then put the spring in the correct position for tightening all the nuts. The distance between the rubber bump stop and the spring is given in the data book. If I remember correctly the spring is flat at the correct distance. I do this by putting axle stands under the front member of the subframe. Engine is now weight instead of counterweight and there is more leverage at the rear. Then I load women or cilinder blocks in the boot till the sping is at its position.

sorry, there is no person, know to me with the name, Huub; the person I am referring to is actually Ruud of Lancia Gamma Forum Fame. Those long Dutch names - Huib, Van, Der, Ruud - confuse me. It is the end of 2007 & my brain is also dragging to an end.
