here's an article shwoing how Lancia is maintaining its good sales perfprmance in Itlay; let's hope that they can replicate this in the rest of 'left-hand-drive' Europe!

I saw thier Ypsilon Momo design at the Frankfurt Auto Show (IAA); not as agressive as the Zagato concept at the Geneva show...if they could offer it with a 1.8L 133PS pertrol as well as the 1.9L150PS jtd it might be fun!

Italy Sept new car registrations 186,759, up 3.50 pct yr-on-yr

MILAN (AFX) - Italy's new car registrations rose 3.50 pct in September to 186,759, from 180,440 a year earlier, said the transport ministry.

In the first nine months, registrations fell 2.34 pct to 1,725,465, from 1,766,897 in first nine months of 2004, the ministry said.

In September, Fiat brand's registrations rose 6.75 pct to 39,207, or a 20.99 pct market share, from 36,729, or a 20.36 pct market share.

Fiat SpA's Alfa Romeo brand registrations fell 16.81 pct to 4,915, or a 2.63 pct market share, from 5,908, or a 3.27 pct market share.

Fiat's Lancia brand registrations rose 13.50 pct to 8,288, or a 4.44 pct market share, from 7,302, or a 4.05 pct market share, it said.

This gives a combined Fiat market share of 28.06 pct, against 27.68.
