Hi Mark,

maybe Lancia is more interested in promoting South America (Portuguese-Brazil, and Spanish - from Mexico south to Chile) rather than have awareness in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong etc i.e. small insignificant markets where its irrelevant to maintain awareness of the brand even if one is not selling there at present...

sorry for my cynicism...

I'm hoping that I'm totally wrong and they're working on a fresh website which will also be available in English (besides, many of us in all the national markets where Lancia is actually on sale prefer reading in English...e.g. myself); Lancia is coming up to its 100th anniversary; this year saw the Aurelia's 50th anniversry and plenty of magazines have been roporting on Lancia. One would have thought that Fiat Auto would have capitalised on this and maintianed English language pages for any curious anglophone reades to keep them apprised of the current range, history, heritage, values, future plans etc etc etc...

ciao and viva Lancia

Hi Philip,

Sadly a part of me thinks your right! Its a great shame, if they have any hope of ever entering new markets, or even (hopefully one day) re-entering RHD markets they need potential customers to be aware of their products.

Cheers,
Mark.

If you've ever e-mailed Lancia you'll understand that it is a complete waste of time, no-one ever gets back to you!

Actually, that is not always the case. When I bought my Lybra in 2002, it only came with a german instruction book. I wrote an email to lancia asking where I could get one in english. I got a reply a couple f days later, telling me to contact the dealer. I did that, and luckily, they happanede to have one evenn though they don't sell lancia anymore.

A couple of weeks later, I got a very nice handwritten letter from Torino, enclosed was also the instruction book in english. Very good service indeed.

I am aware that this was probably not typical for customer support to customer in markeds without lancia present, but nevertheless, it was a very pleasent experience.

You will probably all have noticed that the Lancia webside is there in English. At least I have just visited it. It is probably true that right now Fiat Auto is concentrating Lancia marketing on the markets where they actually sell Lancias.
