Hi Guys, me agin,
I just rescud a set of carbs from a series 1 1.3 which was being cut up and scrapped.
They are top feed Solex C32 PHH's. The outer diameter of the choke is 35mm, however it appears as if a sleeve has been fitted to the chokes some 10mm down. This diameter is 32mm
What do I use for my series 1 1.3s rallye,
a) These proper series 1 carbs C32 PHH blank
b) C35 PHH16
c) C35 PHH19
d) C35 PHH 5
e) C35 PHH Blank
Allof the C35's have a choke diameter of 34mm (maybe I have a faulty vernier and they could be 35mm

Re: Total carburettor confusion - Help!
Just to avoid confusion, what you call the choke diameter is probably the bore diameter.
This should be 35 mm for a 1.3S
Also important is the venturi (also called "choke") diameter which should be 31 mm.
There are 35's around with 29mm venturi for the 1300 engines without S and with 31 mm venturi for the 1300 engines with S. The number 29 or 31 is on the casting at the top of the mouth.
The 32mm ones are for 1200 and 1100 engines.
You need a 35mm carb with 31 mm venturi's.

Thanks Huib,
So I guess I will use the series2 carbs, the C35's. I'll hold onto the C32's for someone who has a 1200 or 1100, which are quite rare here.
Do I just block the fuel return or is it possible to swap the tops of the carbs so that I can use the banjo connections?
Pity the car was cut up, even if it was a bit of a basket case

Re: Total carburettor confusion - Help!
Isn't the PHH5 a series 1 carb?
The PHH19 is in the book and that is a 1.3S carb.
Remember that not all S2 carbs are 1.3S carbs. The berlina's did have 1.3 engines without S and thus used carbs with 29mm venturi's.

All of the C35's that I have are series2 carbs. The C32 is the only one with the seiries 1 type of fuel line feed. and the thye don't have any number after the PHH stamp.
Re: Total carburettor confusion - Help!
Carb covers can be swapped easilly between S1 and S2. 32 and 35. there is no difference in function except for the fuelreturn on the S2 cover. Only check if the float jet is the same.
