I have noticed that the heater duct in the engine bay is slightly higher on one side than the other, which is distorting the bonnet slightly.
Is it possible to easily remove this duct, so that I can adjust its alignment ?

Yes, a piece of cake.
Remove the two rubber bungs on the front and you will have access to two 10mm nuts that secure the duct to the bulkhead. You will need a reasonably long extension and 10mm socket; as is the norm on Fulvias 1/4" or 3/8" drive is best.
