Front stabiliser bar

I am somewhat confused as to why I am unable to refit the front stabiliser bar to the sub-assembly. It appears to have grown wider by 50mm since I removed it. I am probably just missing something very obvious. Please help

I had a similar experience, quite stupid(talking about myself)
I had the outer fixings mounted upside down. ;-(
After locating them correct it fitted as usual.
