Well, I am in need of some help as we get my car slowly back on the road.
My 67 S1 coupe is ready to be painted and I want to use an original color.
Any advice on the Green available at that time would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: S1 Coupe {aint
Is/was your car originally green? If so, what sort of green is/was it? Not knowing any of that, there were only a couple of S1 Fulvia greens.
According to the color references, http://www.fulviahf.it/i_colori_delle_fulvia.htm,
green S1 Fulvia coupes would have been either Verde Ostenda (Lechler 15 or Glasurit LAN 169) or Giada Bettole (Lechler 4).
Based on my Glasurit swatch book, Verde Ostenda is a VERY dark green--almost black. I have no color swatch for Giada Bettole. If memory serves, though, I've seen an early Fulvia coupe in a jade-like (giada = jade) green-blue, and I do have a later (1978) swatch that seems to match this: Verde Lancia (Glasurit 269)
If you want a bright Lancia green from that period, you could use Verde Ascot (Glasurit LAN 183); this is a bright green, but I believe it was exclusively a Flavia color.

Re: S1 Coupe {aint
The Verde Ostenda is very much like BRG (British Racing Green).
There is a lighter green.
Click here to see a pic.
All three are rallye 1.3 models. The light blue one is mine. The Verde Ostenda one in the center is the car of Frits. The greenish one on the right belongs to Bob.
There is also colour information on the Fulvia site of Piero Vanzetti.

The greenish-blue one looks to be Giada Bettole (similar to the Verde Lancia). The Vanzetti site has the Max Meyer paint reference numbers.
Re: S1 Coupe {aint
Does anyone have a good conversion from either Max Meyer # or Lechler (only avail. in Europe) to Glasurit or PPG?
I noticed some Glasurit #'s above - is there a conversion table, or a list of Glasurit # used on Lancias?
There is no Lechler presence in the US, so its very hard to work with those numbers. We have to find friends in Europe to spray swatches for us, and then try to match them here. Glasurit is readily available, tho.

Huib,
Would I be right in thinking you are also the one in the light blue shirt?

Years ago when the first General Motors Holden car was released here it was renowned for being too light in the rear end.
Surprisingly for Australians, in retrospect, conventional wisdom was to put a bag of cement in the boot to improve traction.
I much prefer the idea of using cartons of wine!
Happy Lancia motoring (and responsible drinking)
